What's Cooking @ ALA 2010 was a great success, with a full schedule of cooking demos and a great selection of cookbooks! Check back often for updates on the 2011 "What's Cooking @ ALA" taking place June 23-28 in New Orleans, LA!.
Last year at their Annual convention, the American Library Association hit a homerun with the debut of “What’s Cooking @ ALA” the ALA Cookbook Pavilion, which featured live cooking demos, chef talks/Q&As and a full exhibit of cookbooks and food writing. Piggybacking on that success, ALA is happy to bring “What’s Cooking @ ALA” back to the annual conference, and is equally as excited to debut the “PopTop Stage.” Focusing on travel, romance and mystery, the “PopTop Stage” will focus on these popular topics pairing a book exhibit featuring these genres with author and expert readings, discussions and Q&A.
To inquire on how to be a participating author, expert or chef, contact Patrick Murphy at pmurphy@ala.org.
To have your books included in either or both pavilions, you’ve come to the right place!
Use the ALA Special Pavilion online database right here to preview what titles will be on display. Just choose a subject to browse by or enter a title or author.
If you've published or written a book that falls into the mystery, romance, travel or cookbook/food writing categories and you want to put it on display for the over 20 thousand people at the ALA Annual Conference, then “What’s Cooking @ ALA” and the “PopTop Stage” are your chance to do so whether you're attending the conference or not!
These two pavilions are official exhibits of ALA, full of programming, and heavy traffic. The Combined Book Exhibit will be creating a display of food-related books to accompany the many demonstrations taking place at “What’s Cooking,” as well as an exhibit featuring the best in romance, mystery and travel in front of the “PopTop Stage”-both of which put your books front and center for everyone to see!
Additionally, all of your book and company contact information will be included in the appropriate accompanying exhibit “Mini Catalog” as well as online right here powered by The Book Checkout!
The cost to participate starts at just $ 75 per title (see below for all display options) and registration is easy. Simply click here to get started.
